Simple answers before
your first shift.
How does the free trial work?
First 30 days free on Starter only: one restaurant, one QR code and up to 10 employees, with no card needed. Multi-restaurant plans are paid from day one. After the trial a paid subscription is required. We never charge you unless you subscribe; if you don’t, your data is kept and the account becomes read-only.
How do employees check in? Do they need an app?
No app. Employees scan the restaurant’s QR code, which opens a check-in page in their phone’s browser with your name and logo, then enter their employee ID. At the end of the shift they check out and record their break.
Can I manage more than one restaurant?
Yes. Choose 2 to 5 restaurants, or 6 or more as a custom number, at $19 per restaurant per month, paid from day one. Each restaurant brings its own QR code and 10 employees, shared across the business, and someone who works at two of your restaurants keeps one employee ID.
What if someone forgets to check out?
A manager sets the right time on the attendance record. Every change needs a reason and is kept in the record’s history, so the hours behind each wage total can always be explained.
Does ScanRoster run payroll?
No. ScanRoster records worked hours and calculates wage amounts from each employee’s hourly rate, with additions and deductions you enter. Marking a shift as paid records its status; no money is moved. Reports export as CSV or PDF.
